La Virgen Dolorosa

Our Lady of Sorrows alludes to LUKE 2:35 when upon presenting Christ to the 
temple Mary was told that a sword would pierce her soul. N.S. de los Dolorosa can be helpfully invoked against worry, sorrow , pain or at the hour of death.

This is a beautiful print, one of our favorites! For this altar we have used wood salvaged from an old West Texas railroad bridge. The image of La Virgen is backed with straw matting from Guerrero, Mexico and trimmed with Yucca cactus spikes from right here in Llano, Texas at Rancho No Tengo. We used tin for the headplate.
